Stiger's first public showing, at Ekoparty 22
On Friday 9 October I presented the Stiger beta for the first time, in the Crypt-Steg village at Ekoparty 22 in Buenos Aires. Some people installed it at the stand. The beta is open to any iPhone.
On Friday 9 October I gave a talk about Stiger at Ekoparty 22 in Buenos Aires, in the Crypt-Steg village, the conference’s cryptography and steganography space. It was the first public showing of the Stiger beta, and the first time OneGoodMan.studio showed anything in public.
Thank you to the Crypt-Steg community for giving a one-person project the room to tell people about it.

Stiger hides text, encrypted if you set a password, inside PNG images that look like ordinary stickers, sent over iMessage. The talk covered how that works and where it breaks; the limits are written down in THREAT_MODEL.md, and the wire format is the open spec in stiger-protocol.
After the talk, some people came to the stand to try it. They installed the TestFlight build on their own iPhones and hid and revealed a message there, on the spot.
The stand in 30 seconds
Clips from the stand, with the three steps of the app between them: write the secret and set a password, send it, read it on the other phone.
The slides
The talk was in Spanish, so the slides are too. Open the slides: 23 slides, 12 MB, the arrow keys turn them. Slide 21 lists the sources for the facts on it.
Try the beta
The beta is open to anyone with an iPhone: install TestFlight, then join the group. It is an MVP, and the reason to open it is to hear what breaks. If something does, write to [email protected].
As of 12 October, version 1.0 is still in App Store review. The challenge from the talk is open too: three levels of hidden messages, no app and no iPhone needed.
Thank you, everyone who came by. More announcements after the release.
